Fort Lauderdale police and fire rescue responded to a home Tuesday night after a car plowed into it, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials confirmed.
According to FLFR, the driver crashed into the home in the area of Northwest 13th Street and Seventh Avenue around 7:20 p.m. and then fled the scene, leaving the car behind.
Photos taken from the scene show a gaping hole left in the house.
FLFR officials said a building inspector was called out to check the integrity of the structure.
As of Wednesday morning, the driver had not yet been located.
Anyone with information about the driver’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call the Fort Lauderdale Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
