Florida Highway Patrol: 8 injured in crash involving 7 vehicles on I-10 in Escambia County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, eight people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Escambia County Saturday afternoon.

The crash took place around 3:30 p.m. near Exit 7B in the eastbound lanes of I-10.

In a release, troopers say leading up the accident, traffic was moving slowly eastbound due to a separate motor vehicle crash.

According to FHP, “A white Dodge Ram 3500 pick-up truck pulling a heavy-duty trailer, loaded with a mini steam roller and a small excavator, collided with several vehicles prior to coming to a stop.”

Troopers say seven vehicles were involved in the accident, and eight people were taken to the hospital. Two of those patients were taken by life flight.

Investigators say no serious injuries were reported.

Following the accident, the eastbound lanes on I-10 were closed for approximately two hours for clean-up.
