Florida man accused of leading patrol in high-speed chase, crashes truck and flees on foot.

A man is accused of leaving Florida Highway Patrol on a chase at speeds going over 100 mph.

According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Markeis D’Aundre Stubbs, 22, was clocked traveling at a high rate of speed in a 60 mph zone. The trooper verified the speed to be around 100 mph and attempted to pull the vehicle over using emergency lights and sirens.

The vehicle proceeded to exit I-4, travel over the median divider of County Road 46A and continued at a high rate of speed. FHP says the vehicle ran a red light, made a U-turn and began to travel east on County Road 46A before returning to I-4.

FHP says he swerved at speeds over 130 mph. Stubbs proceeded to exit I-4 and lost control of his vehicle causing it to crash into a parked semi-truck.

Stubbs abandoned the vehicle and proceeded to flee on foot, leaving behind injured passengers, FHP says.

Troopers set up a perimeter and captured Stubbs. FHP says within the vehicle troopers found a firearm, ammunition and four grams of marijuana.

At the same time of the arrest, a woman named Shamika Rose Stubbs Peterson arrived at the scene of the crash and stated that her “kid” was in the car. Troopers told the woman that no one was severely injured, the crime scene was still active and additional information was not available.

Peterson, 39, was asked to leave however she became verbally abusive and made verbal threats to the trooper’s family.

Stubbs was facing charges of resisting officers without violence, driving without a valid license, hit and run involving injury, aggravated fleeing from police with injury or damage, and reckless driving.

Stubbs and Ms. Peterson were booked into the Seminole County Jail.
