Florida man shoots, kills ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend at Lake Mary apartment, deputies say

A man has been arrested for shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend at a Seminole County apartment on Wednesday night, according to deputies.

Nathanal Samuel Bratcher II, 26, was arrested on a charge of first-degree pre-meditated murder, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

At around 11:20 p.m., deputies responded to the Sun Lake Apartment Homes near Lake Emma Road in Lake Mary for reports of shots fired.

When deputies arrived, they found a woman screaming and a man who had been shot lying on the porch of an apartment. The victim – 32-year-old Larreon Da’Quan Cosby – was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the victim’s girlfriend told deputies that her ex-boyfriend, Bratcher, called her saying he was going to kill Cosby.

She tried to contact Cosby to warn him, but was unable to reach him. That’s when she and others drove to Cosby’s apartment, where they found him unresponsive and bleeding, officials said.

Deputies spoke with witnesses who reported hearing male voices arguing prior to the shooting.

The victim’s girlfriend shared a description of Bratcher’s vehicle and where he lived, which ultimately helped track him down.

A sheriff’s office helicopter located Bratcher and another individual traveling in his Ford Mustang near Osceola Drive and El Capitan Drive in Sanford – not far from his home.

Sanford Police officers stopped the vehicle and Bratcher was taken into custody.

Bratcher was booked into the Seminole County jail where he is being held without bond.
