Florida Man Shoots Woman 10 Times Following Argument Over Unwanted Cats

Lehigh Acres, FL – A man is in custody after deputies say he shot a woman who wanted him to get his six cats out of her Southwest Florida home.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 59-year-old Glen White following the shooting at a Lehigh Acres residence on Friday.

Authorities say the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds but survived the attack.

An investigation revealed that White, who had been evicted from his own home, was staying with the victim.

However, tensions arose when White brought his cats – initially three, but eventually six – to reside in the home.

The victim, overwhelmed by the felines, requested White remove the cats from the living area.

An argument ensued, and according to the victim, she planned to relocate the cats to the lanai.

However, when the victim approached White’s room to collect the animals, White allegedly blocked the doorway.

The victim turned around, and White allegedly opened fire, reportedly stating, “I’m going to kill you.”

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The extent of her injuries remains undisclosed.

White was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery.

He is currently being held at the Lee County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

An investigation into Friday’s shooting is ongoing.
