Police said a Florida woman died Saturday after she was hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk.
The other person who was walking with the woman, her husband, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials stated.
Officers said traffic homicide investigators currently are investigating at the scene of the crash.

The New Smyrna Beach Police Department said it responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries Saturday afternoon at 4 Causeway North, in front of the Riverwalk condominiums.
When officers got to the scene of the incident, they said fire rescue officials were providing medical treatment to a woman.
Authorities stated the woman and her husband were walking on the sidewalk when they were hit by a westbound car.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by fire rescue personnel.
Her husband, who officers said remained alert and coherent, was then transported to the hospital.
