Four people were trapped and injured in a major wreck in Gulf Breeze Saturday morning, according to fire officials.
The Midway Fire District responded around 11:30 a.m. to the crash on U.S. 98 near the Camping World RV dealership on Gulf Breeze Parkway. Officials said a westbound SUV was rear-ended by a van, causing the SUV to overturn.
According to the fire department, crews had to use hydraulic extrication tools to free four people trapped in the SUV. All four victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Fire officials said the driver of the van was turned over to law enforcement for further investigation.
