Gainesville Fire Rescue crews put out a building fire early Monday morning.

GFR officials say crews responded to a building fire at the 200 block of Southwest 2nd Avenue at around 5:30 a.m. Crews arrived to find heavy fire from inside the building.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly, and there were not injuries reported.

GFR is investigating the cause of the fire. Fire rescue officials want to remind you that Gainesville and Alachua County are currently under a burn ban. Extremely cold and dry conditions increase the risk of fire. Please avoid open burning and use caution.
