Gainesville Police arrested QD 38, after they say he struck his brother with a metal pipe early Sunday morning.
According to the arrest report, D started punching his brother in the back of his head while he tried to break up a fight between his wife and D’s wife.
Police say he then grabbed a 2-to-3-foot metal pole from his car and hit his brother in the head and the neck.
The victim told police he threw a car jack in self defense, but he missed and hit D’s car instead.
He sustained minor injuries, including a bruise on the side of his neck and small bumps on the back of his head.
Officers say D initially denied having a metal pipe during questioning, but they were able to confirm the victim’s reports of the incident with videos taken by his wife. They say he was very intoxicated and seemed confused as to why he was being arrested.
D’s wife also told police he only grabbed the metal pole because the victim had a knife, but footage showed the victim was unarmed.
D has a prior battery conviction and now faces charges of aggravated domestic battery and felony battery.
