Garage fire forces residents to evacuate Lithia home

Garage fire forces residents to evacuate Lithia home

A garage fire early Dec. 6 forced residents of a two-story home in the FishHawk community of Lithia to evacuate, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR).

HCFR crews were dispatched at 6:26 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a garage fire at a home on Parkset Drive in Lithia. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the garage.

Crews quickly deployed a fire hose and contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the house. Firefighters also conducted searches of the home and confirmed that all occupants had evacuated before they arrived.

No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by HCFR’s Fire Investigations Unit.
