Girl, 13, hospitalized after being hit by car in Miami, first responders say

Police in Miami are investigating after they said a 13-year-old girl was hit by a car.

They said it happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Northwest Seventh Street and 12th Avenue.

According to police, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a crash involving an underage pedestrian.

Miami Fire Rescue crews rushed the girl to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in serious but stable condition, authorities said.

Police did not say whether the driver would be facing any charges, but did indicate that the investigation remained active and ongoing.
