A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly breaking into her boyfriend’s home through his bedroom window and battering him.
Deputies responded to an altercation in the front yard of an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 6 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. There they found 36-year-old GSG arguing with her boyfriend of two years.
G advised that she came to the residence to speak her boyfriend and noticed his male friend was there. She confronted her boyfriend about this, which led to an argument. She did not approve of his friend being at the residence due to allegations of sexual relations between the two, the report said.
She then admitted pushing in a window to get inside the home, saying she had mail and belongings at the property to prove her residency. She claimed that after getting in, her boyfriend grabbed her by the hair, dragged her outside and physically battered her. She described being slammed into a table and dragged to her car, as well as being hit multiple times, the report said.
The report noted G had a large welt on the center of her forehead that seemed to be bleeding slightly. Lake County EMS came to the scene and cleared her since she did not want to go to a hospital.
However, the boyfriend gave a different account. He explained that although he lived at the residence, G did not. She occasionally stayed over when invited and had lived there in the past, but she no longer did because of relationship issues, the report said.
He stated he did not invite her over on that day. She showed up uninvited, started arguing with him and broke his things, such as a television and other property. It was when she began hitting him in the face that he left the residence, only for her to follow, the report said.
The boyfriend claimed G got the welt on her forehead from tripping and falling while running after him. When she fell, she hit the center of her forehead on the corner of the wall by the front door. A deputy later found a nose ring on the floor right next to where she was supposedly injured, the report said.
After she tried to follow him, the boyfriend locked her out of the residence and called law enforcement. Officers with the Leesburg Police Department showed up around an hour before 6 p.m., and he told them nothing happened, the report said.
But once they left, G broke his bedroom window and forced her way into the residence. She proceeded to batter him and continued destroying his personal belongings. It was at this point that he called law enforcement again and waited outside for their arrival, the report said.
The boyfriend denied ever striking G, only trying to hold her down to keep her from hitting him. He sustained scratches on his neck and a very slight laceration to the inner side of his top lip, the report said.
His friend advised that he saw G hitting the boyfriend and destroying his things, but he tried to stay out of the situation due to it being a personal matter between the two. He added the boyfriend never hit her, only tried to restrain her from further striking him. He did not see her fall and strike the wall, the report said.
Deputies then looked around the residence and saw the boyfriend’s bedroom window was pushed out of its frame. A broken TV had been placed outside of the residence, and personal belongings were scattered throughout the place. It was determined G did not live there because of the lack of her personal belongings, the report said.
G was subsequently arrested on charge of burglary with battery (domestic). She was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $15,000 bond.
