Golf cart catches fire, engulfs mobile home: Hernando County Fire Rescue

A golf cart charging in a garage caught fire on Wednesday engulfing a mobile home in Hernando County.

According to Hernando County Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to the 7700 block of Moriah Avenue around 2 p.m. to find a heavy fire coming from a mobile home.

Crews got the fire under control in about 30 minutes, but the home sustained significant damage.

HCFR said no injuries were reported and the Red Cross is assisting the homeowner due to the home being a total loss.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental after starting from a golf cart charging in a side garage.
