Two young girls were taken to the hospital after a golf cart tipped over early Wednesday morning.
Cape Coral Police blocked off the street just before 10:30 AM. They say the incident happened at Southwest 8th Avenue in Cape Coral.
Nicholas Chamberlin, a Cape Coral resident, said he was inside watching videos when he heard the scraping sound of the accident. “I ran outside, and I hear screaming, so I’m thinking…and I already heard a crash – like a small crash – so I was kind of scared,” Chamberlin recalled.
Chamberlin said his first thoughts were that his little brother could have gotten hurt, until he and his father saw the two girls beneath the flipped golf cart.
“We went over there, and we both pushed the cart up because it was completely on its side,” explained Chamberlin.
After lifting the cart, Chamberlin said one of the girls told him that she couldn’t feel her arm, so he immediately got 9-1-1 on the line. “The dispatcher did a great job, and they showed up really quickly, like within two minutes, and they just took over,” he added.
