A handyman who lived on the property of a commercial building on Heckscher Drive fell off a two-story roof late Sunday night and was found early Monday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
According to police, the man, who did not survive the fall, was last seen on the roof of the facility around 11 p.m. Sunday.
“He did all kinds of work at all times of the day and night,” JSO Sgt. M. Highfill said.
The man was found around 4:30 a.m. Monday, and police and paramedics were called to the scene.
Investigators do not suspect foul play and said it appears to be an accidental death, but the homicide unit will investigate.
