One person is dead and two are in critical condition after a head-on crash in Marion County Saturday night.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 11 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 49th Avenue and Southwest 117th Place.
The driver of the first car, a 35-year-old man from Ocala, was traveling southbound when he crossed into the northbound travel lane, colliding with a second vehicle.
He remains in critical condition, and his two passengers are reported to have serious injuries.
Officials say the driver of the second car, a 70-year-old man from Ocala, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger in the second car remains in critical condition.
The investigation is still ongoing.
