State troopers say a 68-year-old man from High Springs is dead after being hit by a pickup truck Wednesday morning.
According to the FHP report, the man was in the road near the intersection of US-27 and Northwest 172nd Avenue in High Springs, causing traffic to stop both ways.
This was just after 11 o’clock.
The pickup truck swerved to avoid hitting the stopped vehicles, and hit the man.
