High Springs man dies after vehicle crash in Alachua County

A man from High Springs is dead after a vehicle crash late Wednesday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the 59-year-old man was traveling south on State Road 45 just after 11 p.m. when he hit a deer. After hitting the deer, the man ran off the roadway and the vehicle overturned and hit a utility pole.

The man was ejected from the car, and the vehicle came to a final rest on the west grass shoulder.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
