Hit-And-Run Crash Pushed Car Into Pasco County Home: FL Highway Patrol

A Tampa man was seriously injured when an out-of-control SUV hit a parked car, propelling it through a home, Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Investigators are looking for a hit-and-run suspect who ran from the scene after crashing an SUV into a Pasco County home early Tuesday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

A Chevy Tahoe was heading south on U.S. 41 around 12:30 a.m. when the driver, a woman, lost control and left the road.

She drove more than 150 feet along the sidewalk and through a chain link fence before hitting an unoccupied car parked in the driveway at 4535 U.S. 41, FHP said.

The impact propelled the car, followed by the SUV, into the home.

The car continued through an interior wall and hit a 37-year-old Tampa man, who was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The SUV’s driver, who “appeared very disoriented,” got out of the vehicle and left the scene on foot, FHP said.

She is described as a white woman in her mid-30s with shoulder-length reddish blonde hair. She is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, troopers said.
