Honk at stop sign ends in shooting, crash in Apopka

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after shots were fired in Apopka on Wednesday evening.

Deputies responded to Rock Springs Road and Pine Street in Apopka around 7:50 p.m. after reports of a vehicle crash and shots fired.

Upon arriving, deputies confirmed a weapon was discharged, but no one was injured.

A man who was a passenger in the crashed vehicle said they had honked at the car in front of them at a stop sign before the driver of that car chased them and fired gunshots.

The shooting is still an active investigation, according to deputies.
