An Okeechobee County husband was found dead, and his wife was suffering from a gunshot wound in what authorities are investigating as an attempted murder-suicide.
The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said that on May 21, deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive person in the Oak Park area.
When road patrol deputies arrived, they reported finding a husband and wife both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigators believe the shooting to be an attempted murder-suicide due to both the husband and wife being married and living in the same home.
OCSO said that the husband was declared dead at the scene, and his wife was airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital.
Officials said that the wife is expected to make a full recovery.
