All I-275 and I-4 lanes reopened following a crash on Wednesday.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said a 61-year-old man was driving an empty tractor-trailer on I-4 westbound around 5:00 p.m. when he had a medical emergency as he entered the exit ramp to Ashley.
The vehicle collided with a guardrail and concrete wall before catching fire atop the I-275 overpass.
The driver was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition, FHP said.
I-275 north and southbound were closed due to the fire, the compromised structural integrity of the overpass and diesel fuel spilling onto the interstate below, FHP said.
