A vehicular accident is creating a delay on a multi-mile stretch of the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Marion County on Thursday morning.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the multi-vehicle accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-75, near mile marker 348, at approximately 7:46 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Although details are limited, according to an active call list maintained by the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at 7:48 a.m., and FHP was dispatched at 7:54 a.m. FHP arrived on the scene at 8:26 a.m.
The right lanes are currently blocked as of 9 a.m.
The vehicle crash involves injuries, although the extent is not specified.
Video cameras maintained by FDOT show that traffic is currently backed up several miles, through at least mile marker 344.
