Northbound lanes of I-95 North have reopened after a deadly wreck in Riviera Beach that caused a traffic jam that extended for more than 10 miles into Lake Worth Beach.

The crash involved multiple vehicles and happened near the SR-708/Blue Heron Boulevard interchange (exit 76), according to the Florida Department of Transportation. With most lanes closed down following the wreck, which happened around 3:30 p.m., traffic soon backed up across all of them.

FL511 cameras showed drivers at a near standstill from Riviera Beach to 10 Avenue N. The cameras also indicated there was another wreck in the midst of the jam that has closed two lanes south of the Palm Beach Gardens Boulevard interchange.

The delays lasted completely through rush hour and the Interstate did not open again until 9 a.m.

Few details about the crash, which happened around 3:30 a.m. have been released at this time.
