A death investigation is underway in Miami-Dade County.
Authorities rushed to the area of the 1800 block of Northwest 70th Street around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.
They said they found a man suffering from stab wounds and rushed him to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but despite medical treatment, he succumbed to his wounds.
Family members identified the victim as S C.
“Somebody killed my child down there, but the system already killed him because if he was getting the proper help that he needed, this would have never happened because he would have been home in the bed,” said Tawyana Bell, the victim’s mother. “I’ve watched him being properly medicated, what a normal person do.”
Authorities said they do not have any information on a suspect.
Homicide detectives are investigating the death.
