A man is recovering after a shooting in the city’s Paxon neighborhood Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Around 8:15 pm., officers responded to the 700 block of Edgewood Avenue regarding a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-50s shot once in the back. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
A First Coast News viewer sent an image of the scene Friday night, with crime scene tape roped around the entrance of the J-Ville Crab Shack.
The initial investigation into the shooting found the victim got into a verbal argument with an unknown man. Police said the suspect left, but returned later and fired multiple rounds at the victim, who was struck once.
JSO’s Crime Scene and Violent Crimes detectives responded to the scene and canvased the area for evidence and witnesses.
Police are still looking for the suspect involved.
