A Kissimmee woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when the Florida Highway Patrol reports she was struck by an eastbound vehicle on West U.S. Highway 192.
According to FHP’s report, around 4:43 p.m. a Ford Fusion was approaching Westside Boulevard, west of Interstate 4, in the inside lane. The 27-year-old female victim was walking northbound in the lanes of 192, not in a marked crosswalk. Troopers say the driver, a 45-year-old Clermont man, swerved to miss her but struck her.
The woman was transferred to an Orlando hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The driver was not injured and remained on scene.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
