Lake County man dies at area hospital after pickup rollover crash

A 33-year-old Tavares man died at an area hospital following a single-vehicle rollover crash Thursday afternoon in Orange County.

The man was driving a 1999 Ford F-350 pickup truck westbound on Jones Avenue approaching Dirt Drive at 5:32 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The truck ran off the left side of the roadway and onto the shoulder before overturning and landing on its roof.

The driver was transported to AdventHealth Apopka, where he was pronounced dead. It is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
