A Largo man is behind bars all because of a confrontation with his mother over $20, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.
RAM, 36, was seen waving a weapon around and arguing with his mother shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, near Seminole Boulevard, according to an arrest affidavit.
Deputies said M ordered his mother to take him to a Wells Fargo Bank and withdrawal $20.
As they were in the car driving to the bank, M grabbed his mother’s hair and pulled her head back against the headrest of her seat. He then took out a BB gun and placed the barrel of the gun to the back of his mother’s head, according to authorities.
M got out of the car as soon as they arrived at the bank, and deputies said his mother drove away. M then entered the bank and tried to get the money himself.
Deputies caught up with him as he was leaving the building. According to authorities, M threw his BB gun into some nearby bushes and laid down on the ground.
However, he refused to comply with deputies’ commands to give them his hands until one deputy “conducted three close fist strikes in his face,” the affidavit said.
Munoz was booked into the Pinellas County jail on charges for domestic battery, robbery, resisting an officer and threatening a law enforcement officer, according to jail records.
