Lawsuit filed after gas station fire injures man filling up motorcycle

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is facing a new lawsuit.

It comes after deputies used a Taser, creating a large fireball at a gas station.

The man badly burned in the fire is now seeking compensation for his injuries.

The incident happened in February of 2022 during a police pursuit from Kissimmee that ended at a Wawa gas station at JY and Central Florida parkways in Orange County.

JB’s attorneys filed a civil suit on Wednesday, alleging negligence as he was chased by deputies from Kissimmee.

The suit states the deputy’s use of force was extreme.

The deputy accused of sparking these flames was found not guilty in criminal court.
