A Leesburg woman was arrested for assault after allegedly swinging a knife at her boyfriend and his son during an argument.
Officers responded to a weapons complaint at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 12:02 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officers briefly met with one of two victims who showed a video on his cellphone of his girlfriend, 38-year-old Jennifer Pusey, with a knife, yelling and walking toward the victims, before the video cut out. After reviewing the video and knowing a six-year-old girl was still in the residence, one of the officers approached Pusey at the threshold of the apartment door and detained her, the report said.
The second victim, a 13-year-old boy, stated that when his stepsister and the first victim, his father, returned home, Pusey started an argument with his father about the vehicle they shared. His father told her that she could have ridden alone if she really wanted to go out. Pusey then started another argument about bills and the boy playing video games, the report said.
As the boy was in the kitchen throwing a candy wrapper away, Pusey came out and started yelling at him to get out of the residence. He went back into his room and locked the door in fear that she would come into the room and hurt him. After she walked away from his locked bedroom door, the boy’s father told him to open the door, went inside and said to see what Pusey would do, the report said.
During that time, Pusey went into the kitchen, grabbed a kitchen knife, came into the open bedroom where the two victims stood and proceeded to swing the knife in both of their faces while yelling to get out of the residence. She also knocked the father’s cell phone out of his hand, as he was recording with it to document the incident. They both ran outside and called law enforcement, the report said.
