A 95-year-old woman’s home in Lake Mary was destroyed Tuesday when a fire broke out, according to a GoFundMe started by the woman’s granddaughter.
The Lake Mary Fire Department responded to the home and found no one inside.
According to a GoFundMe, the woman lost everything she owned.
“At her age, starting over is overwhelming. This was not just a house; it was the place where she felt safe and built a lifetime of memories. Due to her age, navigating insurance, rebuilding, and daily needs is extremely difficult,” the GoFundMe reads.
The Lake Mary Fire Department was assisted by the Seminole County Fire Department, Sanford Fire Department, the State Fire Marshal, and Lake Mary Police Department.
