A Tampa Police Department officer was wounded in a shooting near Busch Gardens and a TPD building on Wednesday morning.
The officer was taken in the hospital and is in stable condition.
Photos from the area show the theme park’s Annie Street entrance roped off with caution tape, as well as a guard tower and nearby parking garage.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said his office is “aware of an incident at a Tampa Bay Police district office.”
“Our prayers are with the officer who was injured by this sick and depraved gunman,” Uthmeier wrote in a post on X. “As of our last update from law enforcement, the gunman is no longer a danger to the public.”
WFLA has a crew at the scene working to gather more information about the incident. There is no threat to the public, according to TPD.
