Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said one local woman is dead following an early morning crash in Levy County.
It happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday on Southeast 8 Street, south of Southeast 3 Avenue.
They said the victim, a 39-year-old woman from Trenton, was driving a golf cart down Southeast 8 Street in a dark area with no street lighting.
Another vehicle, a sedan, approached the golf cart from behind and struck it, according to troopers.
The woman sustained fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.
