A major crash shut down a key intersection serving Palm Beach International Airport late Friday morning, according to Florida 511.
The crash happened on Belvedere Road East at Perimeter Road, an intersection that functions as a primary entrance to the airport. All lanes were closed as of 10:40 a.m. as emergency crews responded.
Florida 511 classified the incident as “major,” but it remains unclear how many vehicles were involved or whether there were any injuries.
The closure is expected to significantly impact traffic in the surrounding area, especially for drivers trying to access Palm Beach International Airport, soon-to-be President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Travelers are urged to allow extra time and use alternate routes while crews work to clear the scene and investigate.
No estimate has been provided for when the roadway will reopen. Updates are expected by Florida 511 as more information becomes available.
