A major crash has shut down a stretch of Florida’s Turnpike in Sumter County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4 on Friday morning in Wildwood in the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike near CR-470.

A vehicle fire was also reported in the area around the same time but so far, no injuries have been reported.

As of 6 a.m., drivers are getting by in the left lane.

Commuters traveling through Sumter County along Florida’s Turnpike heading towards Lake County should expect significant delays.
