Major delays on Turnpike in both directions after semi topples onto median

A crash on the Turnpike is causing major delays for drivers in Delray Beach.

A toppled tractor-trailer ended up on its side near the Atlantic Avenue interchange, with portions of the semi crossing into both northbound and southbound lanes.

Video submitted to CBS12 News showed the overturned trailer of the vehicle sliced by the divider between lanes.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. Few details about what happened or if anyone was injured have been released.

The Florida 511 map showed around 5:15 p.m. that northbound traffic backed up as far south as Yamato Road. Southbound drivers were still seeing delays at that time as well.
