A man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of attacking a teenage girl outside a residence in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.
Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the area of Northwest 85th Place.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim’s mother who said 18-year-old YMC came to a home in the area and began attacking her daughter.
The victim’s father told deputies that he saw MC walking around the home looking for his daughter before striking her, according to the report. Her father said he intervened to stop the fight and called 911.
Deputies said the victim, a 15-year-old girl, told them that MC is a classmate who had previously bullied her and sent threatening text messages.
She said MC arrived on foot and confronted her in the parking lot, where he struck her multiple times “with open and closed fists,” the report stated.
Deputies reported visible scratches on the left side of the girl’s neck. They also confirmed that both the victim and the suspect attend the same school.
As of Wednesday morning, MC remained in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond was listed as “to be set.”
A motive for the attack has not been released at this time.
