Man, 19, accused in deadly April shooting in Overtown

Miami police have made an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting that happened earlier this year.

It happened on April 20 outside of an apartment building located at 365 NW Eighth St. in the city’s Overtown neighborhood.

Authorities arrested alleged gunman Alkeharey James Albert, 19, this week for the shooting.

According to police, officers responded to the scene and found a man inside a car who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police have identified him as 58-year-old Eduardo Sanchez.

Officers tracked down Albert on Wednesday and during an interview, he confessed, according to an arrest form.

He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without incident.
