A man was killed Sunday evening when his minibike crashed into an SUV on State Road 19 in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said around 7:58 p.m., an SUV was traveling southbound on SR-19 approaching the intersection at Horseman Club Road. At the same time, a 21-year-old was riding a mini bike eastbound on Horseman Club Road, approaching SR-19.

Troopers said as the SUV was approaching the intersection, the 21-year-old pulled out into the car’s path, causing the SUV’s right side to collide with the back of the minibike.

The 21-year-old from Palatka was thrown from the minibike and landed on the road, FHP said.

The driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 12-year-old girl, were uninjured.
