Man accused of attempted murder after two people shot at West Palm Beach convenience store

A 22-year-old man is in the Palm Beach County Jail related to a shooting at a convenience store.

Eddie B. Watson of West Palm Beach was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by a delinquent adult.

Arresting documents from the West Palm Beach Police Department noted on Monday at the Food Store located at 717 North Tamarind Ave. that Watson entered the store and pulled out a firearm.

Watson allegedly then began shooting at an 18-year-old man. The victim was shot in the left arm and upper chest. A second victim, a 41-year-old man, was shot in his upper chest.

The report notes Watson ran out of the store. West Palm Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported both victims to St. Mary’s Medical Center for their injuries.

The first victim sustained life-threatening injuries, while the second victim was alert at the hospital.

While at the hospital, the second victim told law enforcement Harris made a comment to the first victim, then Harris produced a weapon and shot the first victim. Harris then shot the second victim.

Watson remains in jail and is ordered not to have contact with the victim, the witness or have possession of weapons.

Watson’s next court date is May 9.
