A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted rape in Opa-locka that occurred back in March, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday.
According to MDSO officials, YG faces charges after attacking a woman in her bedroom on March 6 at a location that was redacted in his publicly released arrest report.
Investigators said the two previously lived together as a family for approximately one year before G vacated the residence prior to the incident.
The victim told investigators that G punched her in the face, causing bruising and a cut to her upper lip, the report stated.
Authorities say G then attempted to force the victim into sexual intercourse but was unable to do so. She reported that after the alleged incident occurred, G fell asleep, allowing her to escape the residence.
Deputies said G voluntarily responded to an interview with the MDSO’s Special Victims Bureau on Monday. After being read his Miranda rights, he denied the allegations, the report stated.
Jail records show G is facing one count each of sexual battery with no serious personal injury and burglary with assault or battery.
As of Tuesday, he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond is listed as “to be set.”
