Man accused of coming to South Florida to attack ex, shaving her hair after pulling knife on her

North Miami Beach police said they arrested a man on Wednesday in connection with an attack on his ex-girlfriend over the summer that involved a knife and an electric hair clipper.

UA, 35, of Richboro, Pennsylvania, is accused of coming to South Florida to carry out the attack. Police said it happened after the victim broke up with him and moved to North Miami Beach after finding out he was married to another woman.

Authorities said A managed to find out where the victim lived, then, on July 24, went to the woman’s apartment building in the 2100 block of Northeast 164th Street and texted her to come outside, where he was waiting for her in a BMW SUV.

Police said that after the woman got into the vehicle, A put a knife to her throat and told her, “I’m going to kill you and throw you into the ocean.”

Authorities said she tried fighting him off but he “overpowered” her and cut her on the right forearm.

“She kept fighting him off and during the physical altercation, he placed his knee on her throat and produced an electric clipper where he began to shave off parts of her hair,” the report states. “He then kept punching her with his fist. She was able to free herself and ran back into the apartment complex looking for help.”

Investigators said she called North Miami Beach police, but A. took off.

Civil court records indicate that A’s arrest on Wednesday came after he showed up to a downtown Miami courtroom for a related domestic violence injunction hearing.

The Russian national faces several charges: aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon, domestic battery by strangulation, assault and battery.

Records show he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $16,000 bond as of Thursday morning.
