Man accused of DUI, fleeing scene, almost hitting deputy, crashing car in Bonita Springs

A man was arrested after being accused of fleeing the scene in a vehicle and almost hitting a deputy in Bonita Springs on Tuesday night.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a disturbance in the area of Old 41 Road and Dean Street.

Upon deputies’ arrival, the suspect, identified as Felipe Umberto-Esteban, 20, fled the scene in his vehicle, LCSO said.

Umberto-Esteban was found a short distance away in his vehicle, which he had crashed, LCSO said.

According to the LCSO arrests page, Umberto-Esteban faces one charge of DUI and five charges of DUI damage to person or property.
