A Leesburg man was arrested for battery after allegedly pushing a woman several times during an argument in their residence.
An officer responded to a battery involving 41-year-old PDD at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Another resident, identified as the female victim, advised that she came home from work to D yelling at her. He started slamming the refrigerator doors and broke multiple containers that were in there. She went to her bedroom after arguing in the kitchen, but he followed her and began throwing clothes in anger, the report said.
She tried again to separate herself, heading to the spare bedroom to get away from D, but he pushed her into the closet door using his forearms and yelled at her again. They both then went back to the kitchen where he pushed her once more into the refrigerator, the report said.
However, D denied ever touching the resident. He stated they argued about finances when she got home after work, but he just grabbed some food and went to his room afterward. They began arguing again, and he was going to leave the residence, the report said.
Yet a witness had heard the pair yelling and came to the kitchen to see they were arguing. She then saw D push the resident with his forearms, the report said.
D was ultimately arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). The Indiana native was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
