A man was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile girl in Hendry County.
According to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office, on July 11, deputies responded to a disturbance at a home in the Montura Ranch Estates community.
Deputies arrived at the scene and located a juvenile girl and William Diaz, 48. The girl told deputies she had been sexually assaulted by Diaz.
Detectives got a search warrant for the residence. During the investigation, it was learned that Diaz had reportedly made threats to the juvenile and other family members, HCSO said.
Diaz faces the following charges:
- Sexual battery by a custodian (3 counts)
- Sexual battery with weapon or force
- Lewd or lascivious battery victim age 12 to 16 (3 counts)
- Lewd or lascivious molestation (3 counts)
- Threats; extortion to commit as crime
- Aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony
Deputies say Diaz is being held without bond.
