Police are investigating a shooting that they said left a man in critical conditon in Florida City on Monday morning.
Florida City police said officers responded to the 1400 block of Northwest Second Avenue, where they found a man with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and abdomen.
They said officers began life-saving measures until Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived.
The victim was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center in critical but stable condition, where he remains intubated, according to investigators.
No witnesses were located at the scene, and detectives have not identified any suspects.
