Man airlifted to hospital after being shot in Miami Gardens

 Miami Gardens police are investigating a shooting that they said left a man hospitalized Saturday afternoon.

It happened just before 2 p.m. near the 2700 block of Northwest 159th Street.

Police said they responded to a shooting call in the area and located a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was airlifted to a nearby trauma center for treatment, according to investigators. His age, identity, and condition have not been disclosed.

Authorities have not yet released a motive or details about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
