Man and dog safe after Palm City house catches fire

A man and a dog are safe after a house fire in Palm City on Tuesday afternoon.

Martin County Fire Rescue (MCFR) said at around 2:30 p.m., crews were called to reports of a fire at a home on34th Avenue, off SW Butler Avenue.

At the scene, firefighters saw flames coming out of thesingle-story home, causing crews to jump into action to suppress the fire.

Luckily, the homeowner and his dog were away at the time, and no one was injured.

Crews remained at the scene to ensure that the fire doesn’t reignite and is completely extinguished.
