Man arrested after deadly hit-and-run crash, Florida Highway Patrol says

An Orlando man is facing serious charges after a deadly crash Sunday morning.

Troopers say the suspect, identified as 19-year-old L, ran a red light, hitting another car on Central Florida Parkway and International Drive around 2:45 a.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the car L was driving flipped on it’s left side, and the driver of the other car, a 29-year-old man from Connecticut, died at the hospital.

A 23-year-old Connecticut woman who was with that man went to the hospital with serious injuries, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers say L then took off on foot, while his 3 passengers stayed at the scene.

Troopers say L and his passengers had minor injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol says L was eventually found and detained by Orange County Deputies, before state troopers made the arrest. He currently faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash with death, and DUI manslaughter.

A criminal investigation is underway.
